What is Health Insurance for Foreigners and what does it do?
If you're a foreign national applying for a residence permit in Türkiye, or renewing the one you already have, you'll be asked for valid health insurance. Health Insurance for Foreigners is designed to meet exactly that requirement.
What the policy covers is set by regulation, and insurers can't go below these minimum levels. On the inpatient side, it includes surgery, hospital room and meals, intensive care, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, dialysis and the medical supplies used during treatment. Outpatient cover takes care of consultations and tests that don't need a hospital stay.
You can take out the policy for one or two years, depending on the length of the residence permit you're applying for. We prepare the document you'll need for your application and stay with you at every step.

What does the policy cover?
Depending on the package you choose, some or all of the cover below can be added to your policy.
Inpatient Treatment
Inpatient treatment sits at the heart of the minimum cover required for a residence permit. The cost of treatment that needs a hospital stay is covered for the full term of the policy.
Surgery and Anaesthesia
If you need an operation, theatre, surgeon and anaesthesia costs are covered in line with your policy terms.
Intensive Care
In serious cases, the cost of time spent in an intensive care unit is included. How long and how much depends on your policy and the package you choose.
Hospital Room and Meals
During your stay, hospital room and meal costs count as part of your inpatient cover and are paid up to the amount set out in your policy.
Outpatient Treatment
Services that don't need a hospital stay, such as consultations, lab tests and scans, are covered in line with the legal minimum and your package limits.
Diagnostic Tests
Lab tests and imaging requested for a diagnosis are covered under the relevant heading, depending on whether your treatment is inpatient or outpatient.
Medical Supplies Used in Treatment
Medical consumables used during inpatient treatment are covered too, so you don't have to pay separately for these items after surgery.
Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy and Dialysis
These long-running, repeated treatments are part of the minimum cover required for residence permit policies and continue for as long as your policy is valid.
Emergency Treatment
If you go to A&E after a sudden illness or an accident, the cost of initial treatment and observation is covered.
Road Ambulance
In an emergency, the cost of taking you by road ambulance to the nearest suitable hospital is covered under the policy.
Cover, exclusions and limits vary with the package you choose and the policy's general and special terms. To work out the right set of cover for you, call us on 0850 303 28 66.

We can issue the policy for one or two years. Matching the term to the length of the residence permit you're applying for helps your application go through smoothly.
This policy is set up to meet the minimum cover the law requires for a residence permit. If you'd like broader health cover, you can also consider private health insurance, or we can look at extended package options together.
Inpatient cover works best at contracted healthcare providers. You can also use non-contracted providers, but an annual cap applies; we'll share the list of providers with you before you buy.
If your application is turned down, cancelling the policy and refunding the premium are handled under the conditions set by regulation. Once you send us the official document, we'll handle the process for you.
Yes. A separate policy is issued for each family member applying for a family residence permit. We prepare them all at the same time and hand them over together.
The policy takes effect on the start date shown on it. It needs to be issued and already in force before your residence permit appointment, so we recommend applying well before your appointment date.
