What is Critical Illness Insurance and what does it do?

A serious diagnosis can bring life to a sudden halt. Treatment drags on, work gets disrupted and unexpected costs pile up. Critical Illness Insurance steps in right at that moment: if you're diagnosed with one of the illnesses covered by the policy, we pay the amount you chose at the start of the policy as a single cash lump sum.

This payment doesn't depend on receipts or invoices. You can use the money for treatment, to make up for lost income, to pay your loan instalments or to get a second opinion abroad. How you spend it is up to you.

The policy covers 16 critical illnesses, from cancer and heart attack to stroke and major organ transplant. Anyone aged 18 to 60 can apply for the first time, and as long as none of the covered illnesses occurs, you can renew your policy up to the age of 70.
